Our B&B

Our first home away from home in Scotland on this journey of 1000 years (or 10 days depending on how you look at it!) Our B&B was a working farm and was once the main farm to Dunnottar Castle. There are photo's that I've taken on Day 3 of this travel narrative, but as it was a very welcoming place on Day Zero, I want to introduce it as well.

The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse was once the main farm on Dunnottar Castle Estate. There is actually an old stone dating back to the 13th Century in the wall of the garden. The house itself is set away from the farm buildings and is surrounded by a mature walled garden with woodland on either side. In the summer the garden is open to guests as is the porch.

The farm is situated across from the main entrance to the spectacular and world famous Dunnottar Castle

Photo 2: Another view of our B&B - taken from the garden and facing the guests entrance into the Farm House.

Photo 3: The view from the garden facing the road and the North Sea. Just to the left of this photo you could spy the very tops of Dunnottar Castle.

Photo 4: The foyer and entry way into the guest side of the Farm House.

Photo 5: My bedroom - no, not the Carl Room, but the room I got to stay at - it had an accompanying full shower and bath just down the hall...mine, all mine!

Photo 6: The TV lounge where Len tried to show us how to work the satellite dish connection, but, well, we were tired! Hope he finally fixed it after we got done with it.

Photo 7: The dining/breakfast room. Elizabeth does GREAT breakfastes. Still makes my mouth water just thinking of the FULL Scottish breakfast! Yes, please, two fried eggs, bacon, black pudding, pork sausage, mushrooms, coffee and orange juice - and lots of buttered toast! Yummmm!
