Governor Mitt Romney signed the Massachusetts District Tartan Bill (H627) into law this day.  This law designates the Bay State Tartan as the official Commonwealth of Massachusetts District Tartan.  Also signed into law was (H2528), which state there shall be an annual Tartan Day in the Commonwealth to be observed on April 6 of each year, to coincide with National Tartan Day, which celebrates the contributions of Scots and Scots-Americans to the creation and prosperity of America.  With this, the Commonwealth welcomes the opportunities Tartan Day offers as a vehicle for strengthening economic, social and cultural links between the Commonwealth and Scotland.

Bob Keith was Clan Keith representative, but forget to bring his tent poles.  Ooops.  He 'made do' by staking the tartan banner next to his Keith file box, which proceeded to fill with water.  It rained all day, but many stayed until the 'after' ceilidh ended.  Pictures anyone?
